Just beginning a fitness journey? Want to stay in shape during the winter months? This is a class for all levels and for people intersted in building a workout program at home.
Hoop Dance is a fun, low-impact cardiovascular workout that strengthens core flexibility, balance, self image and reduces stress. In this beginner’s class, you will learn the foundation for moving with a hoop. You will learn to hoop around the waist, as well as how to move with the hoop. Simple tricks that will make you confident in your hooping abilities. Hoops are provided and are available for purchase. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that will allow you to move freely.
Come learn the basics of a great recreational pastime in a short 6 lesson course. You will learn the basics starting with dancer names and positions, including formations and arrangements and many of the different calls associated with the world of square dancing. It’s easy, fun and a great physical activity. Get out of the house, off the couch, away from the screen and meet people. Bob Brown from Newport has been dancing for over 25 years.
The $45 fee is per couple
Link your breathing with physical movement to flow through a variety of invigorating and relaxing yoga poses and sequences. Cultivate your own yoga practices to challenge yourself while staying within your physical abilities. Build strength, flexibility and balance while learning some basic poses that you can use in your daily living. Our class will consist of a warm up, poses to build strength, balancing poses, deep stretches and a period of relaxation. Modifications are available as it is suited for beginners to advanced. Bring a water bottle and yoga mat and dress comfortably to allow for ease of movement.
